ADOPTION APPLICATION - BECOME A BLM APPROVED ADOPTER! https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/wildhorse_howtoadopt_doc1.pdf
TRAINER INCENTIVE PROGRAM MADISON SHIELDS has joined with Mustang Heritage Foundation as an Approved Mustang Trainer, working together to help America's Mustangs find adoptive homes through a unique gentling program. Founded in 2001, the Mustang Heritage Foundation's mission is to help promote the Bureau of Lang Management's National Wild Horse and Burro Program and increase the number of successful adoptions. Working with qualified, talented horse trainers, the Foundation has two primary training programs to gentle and train Mustangs to increase adoption rates-- Extreme Mustang Makeover competitions and the Trainer Incentive Program. The Foundation has placed over 7,500 Mustangs into private care through its programs. An estimated 50,000 Mustangs are currently residing in BLM holding and adoption facilities, and research has shown that in today's busy society, many perspective Mustang adopters don't have the available time to gentle a wild horse. That's where TIP trainers help increase adoption success rates. Giving the Mustangs a solid foundation in the early days of training lays the groundwork for future success. Through the TIP program, approved trainers pick up a wild mustang, or burro, and begin the training process by gentling the animal. When Mustangs or burros graduate from the TIP program and are put up for adoption, they have mastered many new skills. Most TIP-trained mustangs and burros are halter-started, are willing to have all four hooves picked up, and are trained to load into and unload out of a trailer. Trainers receive funding from the Mustang Heritage Foundation and adopters pay a low $125 adoption fee -- the minimum BLM adoption fee they would have paid if picking up an untouched mustang or burro! Mustangs and burros in the program are all ages and include both females and males. Adopters must meet minimum BLM requirements for adoption. Mustangs Available for Adoption We currently have two beautiful Mustangs available and looking for homes! Mare 4118 is a TIP horse available for $125 with BLM adoption contract, and filly 7185 is a sale authority yearling available for private purchase.
TIP mare 4118 - 3 year old Rock Creek mare. $125 with BLM adoption. 4118 is an intelligent, athletic mare with an in your pocket personality. She currently stands 14hh (and should continue to grow for another two years) with one of the quietest minds I've ever worked with. She is steady, cool, smart, and built like a little cow horse. She would make someone a wonderful western or cowboy dressage partner, or maybe your next gymkhana or barrel prospect; teach her to chase cows on the weekends, or just cruise down the trail for the day. Her bravery and low reactivity make her a great all around horse. 4118 is currently completing her TIP required training and is available for adoption for $125 with BLM approval. Send us a message and see about visiting her!
Filly 7185 - Long yearling from Reveille. Sale authority $300 private purchase. Price will increase with training. 7185 is a beautiful solid bay, bold filly out of the Reveille herd. She is already 14hands and sturdy. Our last Reveille currently rides all over the country with his adopter, camping in the mountains and assisting in hunting trips both packing and riding. Reveilles are known for their loyalty (once you gain it, you've got it for life!) and their athleticism and this filly seems to be no exception. She was a sale authority purchase and therefore will sell with title. Her price will increase with training. Message us to come meet her!
